I'm back!  My mum's wedding was beautiful!  Her and my new step-dad are traveling the world for 2 months, so I have the place to myself!  I should have a party or something.  Yeah, so I met David's mother's side of the family, and holy crap they are hicks (but they looked good for hicks, they had all there teeth and dressed well, so I guess hick isn't the right word for them, I'm not sure what they are called...)!  I heard "howdy, that's a fine accent yous got there" like a million times.  But they are a lot of fun... oddly enough.  Now I am bored out of my mind!  Someone call me!  I'm up for anything.

-Becca

p.s I need to get my drivers license here, apparently my U.K one isn't valid(?!).  So after that, I am thinking about buying that new Jaguar that's out- it's pretty good looking.  All of my cars in other countries, so that really sucks.  I bet you anything that my little brother (who DOESN'T have his permit) is driving them, he's such a loser lol

How hard can a drivers test be?  I'm sure it's a piece of cake, even though americans drive on the wrong side of the road :P

Oops I almost forgot I had a Live Journal. Anyways, the Venezuela trip was great, and now things are pretty much back to normal. I need to take a small trip to Fiji because my mom and David are getting married there. They are flying in all of their friends to have to traditional 4 day wedding or something. I invited Allister, my best friend/ex-boyfriend (we only broke up cause I moved away, but I have a feeling this week is going to be hot ;)), from London to be my date. I can't wait to see him!

I haven't updated in so long. I've been busy cramming for the exams. And I had to take a small trip to Canada to meet some of David's family. They seem nice. I'm pretty sure my mom and him are getting married. I'm not sure how I feel about that, nauseous comes to mind actually. Anyways, I've invited a bunch of my New York friends down to my house in Venezuela, I hope they like it! I'm so excited!

This past weekend I had a really good time.  I spent the weekend in Vermont with my cousin, Miguel, who goes to university in Indiana.  He called me up out of the blue and asked if I wanted to go there with him and his friends, of course I said yes.  We did a lot of snowboaring.  We stayed at his friend John's house.  It was like a non stop party.  Anyways, it feels like I havn't seen my parents in ages, I wonder what part of the world they are in now.  Oh god... I just refered to David as being one of my parents.  I'm watching Top Gear right now, it's a re-peat though.  I'm going to head off to the gym soon.  The Venezuala trip is coming up, I'm looking forward to it.

So here I am, sitting here listening to crunchy old Frank Sinatra records - it is very New York in my mind.  I'm looking out my window, and I see the city lights all lit up, this place isn't half bad.  I am so bored, it's saturday night and I am ordering chinese and lounging in my underwear - NO David isn't home (ew).  No one is home, my mum and her love slave went to Las Vegas believe it or not.  God, I hope they don't get married there.  I can picture David getting pissed and cramping it up - how should i be able to picture this?!  I am so ill minded.

It seems like people here only go shopping, go to clubs, or go to a spa.  Don't get me wrong, all that is alright, but there's other things to do.  I wonder where people snowboard around here, I really want to go!  My entire family used to go skiing/ snowboarding in the Swiss Alpes every february.  Anyways, I might as well go see whats on the television.

If anyone wants to hang out, give me a bell... er, I mean call me (damn, speaking "american" can be quite difficult)

((Now in 1st person))

I just got back to my mum's house. I had a great time back home, but sad that it was so short. I saw all my old friends and my family, I really miss them. Rubina, my step mum, and I all went shopping to my favorite store, Harrods. That place is like a second home to me. Everyone is doing well. Mike is still a football player for Chelsea (I went to see him play on boxing day, he's getting better and better). Rubina is still going to the university in Manchester, she has a new serious boyfriend, he seems really nice. Mark is still aspiring to become a rock-star. As for my friends, we had all these crazy ideas for the next summer... I think we may be hiking up the back hills of no where... of course this was the guys idea.

Tonight I have to go to a new years eve party, I must hurry and get dressed or I'm going to be late!

Rebecca was just serving herself dinner when she heard a knock on the door. She wasn't expecting anybody. She padded over to the door and opened it, to see none other than her older brother. "Mike!" she squealed jumping on him with a giant hug. Her and Mike had a lot in common and were as much as friends as you can be with a sibling. Mike was an exotic looking person like Rebecca, he is 6'6, darker tanned skin than Becca, sky blue eyes and short(ish) black hair. A guy who looked like him was rare. "Hey Becs!" he said dropping the duffel bag and hugging her back. "Surprise" he added. Rebecca couldn't stop smiling, "you're here to visit me! this is so awesome!" she said. "Yeah, well I have a week off from the team" he replied. Mike was a professional 'soccer' player and played for Chelsea. "We really miss you back home" he said walking into the apartment. "Aww, I miss you guys too! It's so lonely here, mum's never home.." she said. "Well you have my company for the week, and I brought you some things from home" he said and opened his bag. He pulled out a bunch of food. "English snacks, because the american ones aren't as good" he said playfully. "thanks! you are my savior!... oh my god I'm still so surprised" she laughed.

Rebecca showed him to a guest room and the two of them had dinner, catching up on each others lives. They decided to go see some of the sights of New York the next day. Becca has lived in New York for awhile and still hadn't seen them. She figured she could knock-off a bit of school, or introduce her brother to some of her new friends. She knew they would just drool over him. She rolled her eyes at the thought.

Rebecca woke up late in the morning.  Her mind almost instantly thought about the night before.  Ben, she thought.  She flipped over to her side, facing the balcony.  Antonio, she thought.  How could she be so intrested in two guys, who were completly different.  Her thoughts were interupted by her mobile phone ringing.

"Hello?" she answered

"Hey Becca?  It's Paul, I tried calling you before" he said

Oops... Paul...

"Oh hi Paul!" she cheered up.  "Yeah, sorry I missed that... so how are you?"

"Can't stop thinking about you" he said.  Yeah... same here...  "So, um, are you busy tonight?"

"not at all, what do you have planed?"  she asked, he could probably hear the huge smile on her face.

"How about I pick you up around 8:30 for a nice dinner?"  he asked

"Sounds great!  I can't wait!"

"Great, see you then"

"Bye"

She clicked off.  She had completely forgotten about Paul.  But now she remembered how charming he was and started picking out an outfit for her date.  She went to the wardrobe and pulled out a little black Dolce and Gabbana dress.  Perfect.  She still had the whole day ahead of her though.  She didn't really know what to do with herself.  Walking out to the kitchen to get something to eat, she instantly thought of somewhere to go, the Soho House!  She loved the one in London, might aswell give this one a shot.  Her mother was an elite member there, sure enough they'd let her in.  Rebecca jumped into the shower.  20 minutes later she was on her way.

[ mood | happy ]

Rebecca entered her mom's house.  No one was home.  She had such a long day.  She wasn't sure what time school started at, so she left around 7:30, stopping at a coffee shop.  She met a girl named Serena, she really wanted to make friends with her.  Rebecca also vaguley met a few of Serena's friends.  At school, she spent most of her time in the guidance office trying to sort her courses.  After school she didn't see any of the people she had met, so she just walked home.

Rebecca walked into her room grabbing the TV remote.  She searched the guide until she found soccer scores.  "football! something from home" she said to herself.  She watched the live game Manchester United VS Chelsea.  She knew her brother would be in the crowd, cheering for their favorite team, Manchester United.

Half an hour passed and the score was 1-0 for her team.  She heard the front door open.  She walked out to see her mom.  It wasn't her mom, it was David, and he was wearing a suit, thank god, it was good to see him with clothes.

"Oh, hi" she said stopping, unaware that he lived here.

"Hey Becca, you're mom's not going to be home tonight, so it'll just be you and I for dinner, hows about I order chinese?" he said.

"Sure, that sounds fine." and she returned to her room.

She walked back into the room and heard her cell phone ringing.  The name ALISTAIR lit up on the screen.  She felt her heart pound.

"Hello?"

"What-oh my sexy mate!"

"Ali! it is so good to hear from you, I miss you guys so much"

"well we miss you too, love"

"And how were the MTV Europe awards the other night?"

"Oh brilliant!  I wish you could've come!  You should her heard Jen screaming her lungs out when that Robbie Williams bloke came on.  She got to touch his hand, I'm never going to hear the end of it." he said with a chuckle.

Rebecca laughed.  "Yeah, that sure sounds like Jen."

"So whats up with you?  How are you liking America?"

"Well it's ok, certainly different.  It doesn't seem as...clean.  I don't know what it is."

"Yeah, I've seen those american girls on tv shows and they are always so hyper, and screaming and jumping at the fact that they are on TV."

"I've seen girls here wearing their pajamas on the streets!"

"barmy, that is strange"

"and there's no school on saturdays!"

"Thats not fair." he said with a laugh.  "And how's your mum?"

"Good, even if I've barely seen her, and her boyfriend is good too."

"I didn't know she had a boyfriend"

"Neither did I, until now.  Hes easily like 6 years older then me."

"Oh... thats odd.  Made any friends?"  he said changing the topic a bit.

"Well I met a girl named Serena this morning, oh, and a guy in the elevator the other day."

"Ohh a guy?  and did this guy try to chat you up a bit?" he said playfully.

"The americans call it 'hitting on' or something like that, and no, we just met, and thats all."

"Well thats good, you have to have to watch out for those american boys, I've seen the type in the movies."

"Oh of course, I'll be careful."

The two of them had a bit of a fling in the summer.  Rebecca and Alistair, and a few other friends went to Venezuela for a month in the summer, living in a house on the beach.  Rebecca thought of how the two of them would lie in the hammock together watching the sun set.

"Maybe we could hang out in the winter hols?" she said.

"That would be great"

She could picture him grinning his handsome boy-ish grin.  He was irresistible.  Alistair is 6'3, royal blue eyes, short-ish shaggy dirty blond hair, and usually had a 5 oclock shadow.

She could smell the chinese food that had just arrived.

"I got to go, dinner time, I am eating with David"

"The mums lad?  Well give him a chance."

"Cheers"

"I miss you" he said with his voice dropping

"I miss you too"

"Cheerio"

And she clicked off.  Before going to eat, she checked her e-mail.  There was one from Serena to go see a movie tonight.  She quickly replied that she wants too.

She walked into the kitchen and got the plates out.  The two of them sat down in silence.  She started to scoop some noodles on to her plate.

"So how are you liking New York?" David finally said.

"It's nice" she said with barely any expression in her voice.

"Cool.  Got any plans this evening?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm going to see a film with a girl from my school."

"Awesome." he replied.  Rebecca couldn't beleive how he had the same vocabulary as her 15 year old brother Marc.

She finished her meal.  "I should go get ready she said, taking her plate to the sink.

She went into her room and changed her clothes.  She put on a pair of jeans, and a new Juicy Coulture fine gauge jersey tee with lace.  She went into her bathroom to brush her teeth, and touched up her makeup.  It was simple, a little black eye-liner and some mascara.  She grabed a mac lipgloss and put it in her Fendi Selleria Leather Linda Bag.  She put on a pair of matching Fendi mules.

She stepped out into the elevator.  It stopped on the way down, and Paul entered.

"Hey you" he greeted her with a smile.

"Hi" she smiled back.

He looked at her up and down and let out a quick breath.  "Wow, you're looking nice this evening"

"Thanks" she said, smiling again, acting embarrassed, but she knew she looked good too.

"I hope I'm not being too forward, but could I take you out for coffee, or dinner sometime?"

"That would be great" she said taking out a piece of paper from her hand bag, she scribbled something on it.  "Here's my mobile number"

"Thanks, you'll be hearing from me."

The two of the stepped out onto the street.  He hailed her a cab.  "Here you are miss Rebecca, have a nice night."  he said playfully.

"Thanks, you too" she said with a wink.  He shut the door.  "5th Avenue between 82nd and 83rd, please" she told the cab driver, and she went off.

After Rebecca's Mother, Marina, put on some more appropriate clothes, she showed Rebecca to her room.

"This is where you'll be staying, I hope you like it" she said with a smile.  Rebecca stepped into the room looking around.  The room was very nice and mediterranean looking. The walls were a light cappuccino colour, with a king size bed that had red silk sheets.  The furniture was a dark brown wood.  There was a big plasma screen tv and sound system, but what caught Rebecca's eyes were the pictures on the dresser.  There was one of her and her family before the divorce.  They were all there, happy.  Other pictures were of her childhood, her and her brother and sister at the beach and such.  She smiled.

"Thanks mom, it's perfect."  Her mother left and Rebecca started to unpack her clothing into the wardrobe.  She stopped and flopped onto the bed tiredly.  She pulled out her O2 Active mobile phone.  She texted her friend Alistair back in London.  "New York City is very different, call me sometime :)" she pressed send.

She felt bored, it was after 6:00 pm, and she started school the next day.  She decided to call it a night.

Who does it better?

[Friday
November 4th, 2005 at 5:15pm]
Rebecca's taxi pulled up to her mother's appartment building. She felt as if there were 100 butterflies in her stomach. She hadn't seen her mother since she was 7, when her parents divorced. The doorman opened the door for Rebecca and she swung her perfectly tanned legs out onto the road, and stood up. The doorman was collecting her brand new louis vuitton bags out of the trunk. She wasn't sure if she was happy to leave England or not. She wouldn't be graduating with her old friends, but be able to live with her mom. She would be attending Constance Billiard, everything was so different now.

"Could you please take those up to Ms. Calvert's penthouse" Rebecca asked.
"With pleasure" he responded, still handling the many bags. She honestly did have way to many clothes. Rebecca climbed up the steps of the building, her manolo blahniks taping on each step. Her heart was racing faster then a humming birds. She reached the elevator and got in, trying to calm her nerves. Beside her was a handsome man who looked about 20 years old. She pressed the button and the door closed.
"Are you new here? I've never seen you before" he said breaking the silence in a kind voice.
"um, actualy, yes I am, I'm staying with my mother" she replied, feeling somewhat childish to say that, so she added " for awhile" trying to act as if she was just visiting in a mature manner.
"You have a really nice accent, oh, I'm Paul by the way" he said putting out his hand. "I'm Rebecca" she said smiling. After they shook hands, the elevator stoped and the doors opened. Rebecca wished the ride up was longer.
"This is me,it was nice to meeting you" he said steping out. "Hopefully I'll see you a-" and the doors closed. Rebecca felt her cheaks burning. She was never able to flirt with boys very well, or at all. She went to an all girls boarding school, and only spent time with boys in the summer, but that time was not wasted. She hoped she would see him again too.
Once she got to the penthouse, her mother was there to great her, practicly naked. Rebecca felt a little uncomfortable. "hi mom" she managed to say. "Rebecca! I thought you were comming tomorrow! Oh it's so nice to see you,
you look beautiful!" her mom beamed with joy. Suddenly a man came into view, almost naked too. "Oh, this is David" she turned twards him " Honey, this is my daughter Rebecca". She faced her daughter once more. Rebecca felt her stomach turn. The three of them stood there awkwardly in silence.
